Each year since its founding in 1919,  the Los Angeles Philharmonic has been hailed as Southern California's leading performing arts institution, presenting classical music, jazz, world music, organ recitals, holiday programs and pop performances during its 30-week winter season at Walt Disney Concert Hall and its 12-week summer festival at the legendary Hollywood Bowl. Gustavo Dudamel's inaugural season as the LA Phil's new Music Director begins in the 2009/10 season.
